| 1927 | • Leo & Kathryn Theisen founded Theisen's, opening first store, Theisen Battery & Electric at 8th Street in Dubuque. |
| 1948 | • Added a partner & operated as Theisen-O'Neill Tire Company for 4 years. |
| 1952 | • Became members of a national buying group, Mid-States Distributing Company, comprised of family-owned independent retailers, such as Theisen's. Today Mid-States exists as a multi-billion dollar company, growing to over 500 stores. |
| 1956 | • Jim Theisen, current President, joined the Company. |
| 1957 | • First branch store opened in Maquoketa |
| 1964 | • Anamosa store opened |
| 1967 | • Dyersville store opened |
| 1968 | • Tipton store opened |
| 1970 | • Dewitt store opened |
| 1971 | • Monticello store opened |
| 1973 | • Theisen Distributing, the corporate headquarters and distribution facility established. It's primary function being to service the retail outlets. |
| 1979 | • Dubuque store relocated & expanded |
| 1986 | • Vinton store opened |
| 1987 | • Theisen Distributing expanded & relocated to a 50,000 sq ft facility, operating as Theisen Supply Inc., as it is known today. A further expansion in 1997 took this facility to 70,000 sq ft. • Sons, Chris and Tony, joined the operation, becoming owners in 1994. |
| 1994 | • Iowa Falls store opened |
| 1996 | • New Vinton store built in new location |
| 1997 | • Charles City & New Hampton stores opened |
| 2001 | • Marshalltown store opened |
| 2002 | • Cedar Rapids store opened |
| 2003 | • Dubuque store expanded |
| 2004 | • New Charles City store built in new location • Dewitt store expanded |
| 2006 | • Newton store opened • Fall 2006 - Ames store opened • Winter 2006 - Grinnell store opened |
| 2007 | • Theisen Supply Inc. expanded and relocated to a 140,000 sq ft facility. • Maquoketa located to a new 50,000 sq. ft. building doubling in size and celebrated it's 50th year. • Pella Store Opened. |
