Theisen’s of Charles City was opened in 1997. In 2004, the original store moved to a newly built location and is the tenth in the Theisen’s chain
Charles City is home to several parks and recreational areas, including the Charles City Whitewater Park, which features a man-made whitewater course for kayaking and tubing.
One of the notable attractions in Charles City is the Floyd County Museum, which features exhibits and artifacts related to the history of Floyd County and the surrounding area. The museum is housed in a historic building that was once the county jail and sheriff's residence. The city is also home to several events and festivals throughout the year, including the Charles City Art-A-Fest and the Floyd County Fair.
