We support many organizations through our charitable giving and the Theisen’s More for Your Community grant program.
Theisen’s of Ames opened in 2006 with an expasnion to 87,500 square feet in 2012. Ames is the fifteenth Theisen’s store.
Ames is known for being the home of Iowa State University, one of the largest universities in Iowa, with a student population of over 30,000. The university is known for its strong programs in agriculture, engineering, and the sciences, and it is a major employer in the city.
One of the notable attractions in Ames is the Reiman Gardens, a public garden and arboretum located on the Iowa State University campus. The gardens feature a variety of plant and flower species, including a butterfly wing and several sculptures and other artworks.
The city of Ames is also home to several parks and recreational areas, including the Ames Dog Park, which features a fenced-in area for dogs to run and play, and Ada Hayden Heritage Park, which offers hiking trails, fishing spots, and other outdoor activities.
